About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY This position is accountable for directing activities of workers concerned with building and setting forms made of wood, metal, vinyl, and other materials in accordance with customer specifications (plans). The incumbent must have the ability and flexibility to work varying shifts and long hours (8-12 hours). Weekend work and extra hours occur according to production needs and at the discretion of the Supervisor.

Requirements

A minimum of three years of experience finishing concrete structures and pier foundations, setting steel preformed forming systems, and pouring concrete is required.
Experience directing others within a small work unit executing work procedures.
Fluent in English and Spanish is preferred.
A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
Basic computer literacy is needed.
Be able to work in constant change in weather and site conditions.
Be able to lift, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and other similar activities as needed.

Responsibilities

Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times for specific phases of construction.
Assembles members of a crew at start of project.
Collaborates with supervisor on orders for procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules.
Confers with and assists superintendent in,
The supervision of personnel engaged in executing work procedures
Interpretation of plans and specifications and
Coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays.
Confers with supervisory personnel and labor representatives to resolve complaints and grievances within workforce.
Confers with supervisors, engineers, inspectors, and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules.
Prepares or reviews reports on progress, materials used and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports.
Directs workers concerned with major maintenance or reconditioning projects for existing installations.
Maintains equipment and tools to ensure long lasting use.
