About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Forklift Mechanic to join our maintenance team. This role is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of forklifts and other material handling equipment (MHE) to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, experience with hydraulic systems, and the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to cross-train in other maintenance areas to expand your skill set. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform preventative maintenance and repair tasks on forklift equipment per manufacturer and company guidelines to ensure continual and safe operation Perform basic preventative maintenance tasks and minor repairs on all mechanical assets impacting the operation of the facility, physical structure, and exterior grounds Perform basic inspections of refrigeration system under the instruction and close supervision of leadership. Other tasks as assigned ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Operate power tools, cutting torch and other welding apparatus to cut or join metal parts Utilize onsite motorized lift and rental equipment as needed while operating, inspecting, calibrating, and maintaining equipment MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES) At least 1 year of experience with forklift equipment maintenance and general building maintenance Familiarity with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems Capable of completing routine preventative maintenance Fully proficient with, and capable of operating power and hand tools Basic computer skills Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the facility Possess problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload with demonstrated organizational skills. Ability to work in temperatures as low as -20 Fahrenheit/-25 Celsius in cold storage sites while wearing company provided personal protective equipment and freezer gear Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs./23 kgs.; weight may be more dependent upon facility Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including weekends if needed Some locations require being comfortable with various noise levels, at times, can be loud

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience with forklift equipment maintenance and general building maintenance
• Familiarity with mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
• Capable of completing routine preventative maintenance
