About The Position

The Forklift Mechanic at Quinn Caterpillar is responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on various models of material handling and farm equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to work with precision tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance of forklifts and related machinery.

Requirements

• High school diploma or five plus years' heavy equipment experience or equivalent education and experience.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instruction.
• Valid California driver's license/good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, and repair forklifts and farm equipment.
• Disassemble, overhaul, repair and reassemble engine, transmission, differential, clutch, brake, electrical system, fuel system, and any other part related to material handling or farm equipment.
• Perform scheduled equipment service ranging from minor to major service.
• Use all tools of the trade, including precision instruments, welding equipment, shop machines, overhead hoists and power tools in adjusting and repairs.
• Complete accurately all required internal and customer driven paperwork, including work orders, safety inspections, timesheets.
• Ensure company equipment and tools comply with safety and cleanliness standards.
• Demonstrate exceptional communication and customer service skills.
• Own and maintain up to date tools of the trade.
• Keep work and supply areas clean and orderly, and follow all safety rules and procedures.
• Perform other work-related duties as directed or assigned.
