About The Position

Bee Sweet Citrus, Inc. is seeking a safety-orientated and motivated individual to join our Occupation Safety Team as a Forklift Safety Officer. The position will be responsible for providing forklift specific safety leadership, training and development, ensure facility and forklift compliance, ensure forklift safety policies and procedures are implemented, and ensure overall forklift safety.

Requirements

• Must have 1-2 years of forklift experience.
• Experience with general occupational safety.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential hazards.
• Ability to read and interpret safety manuals, inspection forms, and regulatory documents.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of applicable regulations such as OSHA and forklift safety.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred to effectively communicate with all team members.

Responsibilities

• Ensure pre-operation post operation checklists are being completed on all forklifts by operators.
• Use standardized inspection checklists and escalate non-compliance or mechanical issues.
• Send daily recap emails at the end of each shift, summarizing observations, actions taken, and any safety concerns addressed.
• Ensure operations comply with Bee Sweet Citrus safety policies.
• Maintain inspection logs, repairs requests, driver profiles and operator certifications for audit readiness.
• Support or lead forklift operator safety training sessions.
• Monitor operator behavior and enforce corrective actions for unsafe practices.
• Report all violations for disciplinary action, while also addressing violations with operators.
• Collaborate with team members to enhance safety protocols and enhance safety culture within the workplace.
• Participate in investigations involving forklift-related incidents or near misses.
• Recommend preventive measures and contribute to safety improvement plans.
• Verify forklifts are properly maintained, labeled, and stored.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams for timely repairs and servicing.
