Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson Foods will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 365 days and are limited to 3 times of employment. The starting pay for this position is $20.80/hr. with a shift increase for second and third shifts. Job Summary: This position is responsible for ensuring materials are moved/transported throughout the facility as necessary.

Requirements

Applicants must show six (6) months of forklift experience at one employer in the past 36 months.
Applicants will be required to earn forklift certification within 8 weeks of hire to perform essential job functions.
Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
Must be willing and able to stand, walk, bend, twist, stretch, climb, push, pull, kneel, squat, and reach.
Must be willing and able to lift, push, and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. in many areas of production.
Must be willing to work in cold temperatures ranging from 20 to 36 degrees.
Ability to safely operate foot and hand controls with good hand-eye coordination.
Ability to sit for extended periods while operating equipment and frequently twist/turns to check surroundings.
Ability to repeatedly climb in and out of forklift equipment.
Ability to maintain the level of awareness necessary to safely operate a forklift around people, equipment, and moving vehicles, with or without reasonable accommodation
Candidates must be willing and able to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

Move product as directed using pallet jacks, forklifts or other means.
Reading/reviews work orders and follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved, counted, weighed, put away and recorded.
Safely opens containers, using steel cutters, crowbar, claw hammer or other hand tools.
Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit, using hand tools.
Cleans work area, machines and equipment, using broom, rags and other products.
Updates database records as required; participate in all department and company training sessions and meetings.
Maintains a working knowledge of all warehouse operations.
Collaborates with cross-functional partners within facility.
Performs other duties as assigned.
