About The Position

Consider joining the Pennex family as a Forklift Operator - Night Shift at our Wellsville, PA location. The Forklift Operator safely and efficiently transports materials using the forklift, which is a powered industrial truck equipped with forks or a platform for lifting and carrying heavy objects. This position works a 12-hour night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on rotating days and weekends.

Requirements

High school diploma or the equivalent.
One or more years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience .
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to perform these operations using units of American weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Must attend and pass Forklift Operators Safety course.
Must possess a valid Forklift License.
Must be authorized to work in the US; visa sponsorships are not available.
Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
Must have regular attendance.

Responsibilities

Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, extrusions, or logs and transports load to designated area.
Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
Loads and unloads trucks as required.
Empties trash containers as needed.
Places empty baskets on wheels for saw crews.
Empties scrap hoppers, separating alloy 6061 from 6063 as directed.
Loads and unloads heat treat ovens and moves metal to next department or area.
Follows proper procedures, starts Age Ovens selecting proper cycles.
Completes documentation and charts as required.
Monitors Age Cycles periodically to assure proper operation.
Ensures forklift is maintained in a safe working order.
Reports defects or problems to shift supervisor.
Completes preventive maintenance and corresponding paperwork as directed.
Replaces propane bottle refueling forklift as required.
Places empty bottle in proper storage area.
Assists with maintaining a neat and orderly plant, insuring aisleways are kept clear.
Performs general housekeeping duties as directed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
