About The Position

LiDestri Foods, a family-run company based in Rochester, NY, employs over 1,000 people across three U.S. locations. Starting as a pasta sauce and salsa manufacturer, LiDestri has evolved into an R&D engine, developing and producing innovative food products for national and retailer brand partners. The Forklift Operator position is responsible for ensuring rail cars are safely directed to the proper receiving bay.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment (bump cap, hair net, ear plugs, beard net (if applicable), Kevlar gloves, safety glasses and leather skid resistant work shoes/boots)
• Ability to apply basic computer and communication skills and math functions
• Ability to use basic hand tools (RF scanner guns)
• Previous experience operating forklift in a fast paced environment

Responsibilities

• Guide rail cars into receiving bay
• Unload and load inventory
• Utilize RF scanner guns
• Move, locate, relocate, stack and count inventory
• Follow GMP protocols
• Report food safety & quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
