About The Position

Transport incoming freight from staging areas into inventory and place products in the appropriate warehouse slots and multi-level racks within the assigned area. Replenish and restock pick slots in a timely manner while ensuring compliance with all safety standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and quality requirements. Maintain efficient production flow and work collaboratively as a team member within the department and organization. Perform additional duties as assigned to support company operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • 6-12 months of experience in a warehouse environment
  • Completion of forklift and power jack training with certification
  • Frequent bending and twisting
  • Prolonged standing and sitting
  • Ability to lift and move materials as required

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of warehouse experience
  • Experience operating a forklift in a foodservice industry environment

Responsibilities

  • Review daily work schedule and prepare for operations.
  • Perform safety checks on equipment.
  • Obtain necessary supplies to complete assigned tasks.
  • Work from receiving sheets, computer printouts, established procedures, and written or verbal instructions.
  • Locate incoming freight in staging areas and perform count verification.
  • Transport freight to the appropriate storage area using a forklift, hi-lift, or power jack.
  • Inspect items for damage and perform temperature and quality checks.
  • Take appropriate corrective action when needed.
  • Locate the proper storage slot and place pallets using a forklift or hand-stack items as required.
  • Enter product data and storage locations into a radio frequency (RF) unit or handheld device.
  • Replenish pick slots with outgoing stock according to next day work orders.
  • Rotate date-sensitive inventory according to FIFO practices and remove outdated products per company policy.
  • Distribute overstocked items to available temporary storage locations.
  • Remove empty pallets, cardboard, and packing materials to designated areas.
  • Inspect empty pallets for damage, stack them, and transport to proper storage using a pallet jack or forklift.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Remove batteries requiring recharging, replace them with fully charged batteries, and complete vehicle inspection checklists.
  • Secure all equipment and complete required paperwork at the end of each shift.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
