About The Position

Forklift Operator 0003 - Goodlettsville Case Ready DC Schedule/Hours: Sunday-Tuesday 6am-6pm, Wednesday 6am-12pm Pay: $22.10/HR This position is responsible for product movement within the facility and/or loading product for shipment. This position will be responsible for operating machinery including ongoing production flow while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.

3 months forklift experience
Must be able and willing to place and/or retrieve finished boxed product from the coolers, trailers and production floor with the use of a battery-powered Forklift.
Must be able and willing to break down or stack up products (weight range from 5 to 80 pounds) on wooden pallets (weight range from 65 to 75 pounds) to form full or complete pallets. The empty pallets are stacked (10 high) in the work areas.
When handling boxes of finished product, must be able and willing to remove boxes from a pallet and place it on other pallets to build a full pallet. Pallet height could vary from 8 inches to 7 feet tall.
Must be able and willing to grasp: There is a bilateral full-hand grip required to up stack/down stack boxes of finished product onto pallets and the lifting of wooden pallets. A full hand grip of the dominant hand is required to operate the Forklift.
Must be able and willing to stand on the platform of the truck that is covered with a non-slip coating. When not operating the Forklift, must be able and willing to stand and walk on a cement floor.
Must be able and willing to lift wooden pallets and finished boxed product which weigh between 5 and 80 pounds.
Must be able and willing to bend at the waist while retrieving wooden pallets and or up stacking/down stacking finished boxed product.
Must be able and willing to use moderate force when performing this job.
Must be able and willing to use heavy lifting and simultaneous use of both hands when performing this job.
Must be able and willing to work in temperatures ranging from approximately 28 degrees to 32 degrees. Team members are encouraged to dress appropriately before they arrive at their workstation.
