As a Forklift Operator at Pratt Industries – Hammond, you will play an essential role in maintaining the flow of materials by moving various sized units and products to the correct staging areas.   • Active participation in meeting production schedules and resolving challenges proactively.
  • Follow all safety and operational guidelines to ensure a safe working environment as well as becoming Pratt Forklift Certified.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail, ensuring that materials and equipment are handled with care to prevent damage.
  • Support general operations by performing duties efficiently and accurately.
  • Participate in training programs to stay up to date with company procedures and safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure necessary equipment maintenance is completed in a timely manner.
  • Support coworkers in various tasks and be available to work weekend shifts when needed.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, multitasking, and time management skills.
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift materials.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision.
  • Lift Truck Operator License (must be maintained).
  • Candidates with previous experience in the corrugating industry, forklift operation, or working with warehouse management systems are preferred.
  • Ability to identify maintenance needs and take appropriate action.
