About The Position

This position is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of the CAS Forklift throughout the production day.

Requirements

• Must be able to successfully complete fork lift drivers training
• Ability to operate forklift efficiently, within safety guidelines, in all weather conditions
• Ability to work safely and effectively around moving machinery
• Ability to perform a daily safety inspection of the equipment and record data
• Basic maintenance skills required
• Must adhere to CAS Department Animal Welfare Standards and practices
• Willingness to work overtime and be called into work for emergency situations as required
• Must be able to work independently to make required decisions
• 6-month production experience and/or forklift (or similar equipment) experience listed on the application (can be a combination of employers as long as total experience is at least 6 months).
• Max of two (2) previous Tyson Employments to be considered for hire. 90 days (3 months) waiting period.

Responsibilities

• Remove cages from semi for slaughter
• Place on dumping rollers
• Remove emptied cages and return to semi
• Handle birds according to departmental Animal Welfare Standards
• Responsible for daily pre-trip inspection of forklift and minor repairs throughout production day
• Other duties as assigned
