As an essential part of the production process, the Forklift Operator plays a key role in maintaining accurate inventory, ensuring material flow, and supporting a safe, efficient, and organized manufacturing environment. The Forklift Operator moves designated materials, wraps pallets for shipping, and scans pallet movements to keep production flowing and ensure accurate inventory levels and locations. Additional responsibilities may include performing cycle counting, completing relevant shipping paperwork, monitoring inventory levels, and resolving discrepancies This requisition supports hiring for two night-shift schedules. Candidates may be considered for either schedule based on availability and business needs. D Shift – Forklift Operator: 12-hour night shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM 3rd Shift – Forklift Operator: 8-hour night shift | 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Responsibilities
- Follows safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Conducts daily forklift inspections and reports safety concerns.
- Maintains a clean and organized work environment in accordance with the 5S principles.
- Reviews work orders or spec sheets to determine required materials and quantities.
- Uses a scan gun to locate, pull and transport material to designated machines or staging areas.
- Scans, wraps, bands, and labels finished products per specifications before transporting them to inventory.
- Verifies and updates material locations in system using a scan gun.
- Reweighs, labels, quality-checks, and returns excess materials to inventory.
- Pulls, stages, and scans pallets for quality checks, rework, or shipment.
- Loads and unloads shipments, ensuring order accuracy and proper documentation.
- Assists with inventory management, including audits and physical inventory counts.
- Completes dock audit logs and verifies order accuracy before loading onto trailers.
- Supports production and shipping teams to meet operational needs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
