About The Position

Overview: Under the direction of the Supervisor will operate a forklift, prepare all drums needed for loading NFC tanks or all raw materials required for the processing department. May transfer other commodities where forklift is needed. Here's what you'll do: Perform duties in a safe manner Must be able to drive a sit-down forklift in a safely manner Must be able to pull fruit from the production area from time-to-time and properly store Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts and changing work schedules Inspect forklifts and complete daily log sheets Drives gasoline-liquefied gas or electric-powered industrial forklift, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials in drumming production area Will operate attachment used to grasp and carry empty and full dr5ums Prepares all drums needed for loading NFC tankers or all raw materials required for blending Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets and skids Lubricates forklift, recharge batteries, fill fuel tank, or replace liquefied-gas tank Reads work orders or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials moved or handles on daily production sheet Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together, using banding machine and clincher Lifts heavy objects by hand or using power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment, using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds, to assist machine operators Assists on sanitation at end of production on drumming, dumping and tanker loading areas Handles hazardous material like Caustic Soda, Hypochlorite 12% concentration, Enviro Klor Plus-foaming Detergent, among others, for sanitation When needed assists at the dumping and drumming area Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor FOOD SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES The employee shall take all reasonable measures and precautions to ensure compliance with 21CFR 110. Disease Control: Any employee who, by medical examination or supervisory observation, is shown to have, or appears to have, an illness, open lesion, including boils, sores, or infected wounds, or any other abnormal source of microbial contamination by which there is a reasonable possibility of food, food-contact surfaces, or food packaging materials becoming contaminated, shall be excluded from any operations which may be expected to result in such contamination until the condition is corrected CLEANLINESS All employees working in direct contact with food, food-contact surfaces, and food-packaging materials shall conform to hygienic practices while on duty to the extent necessary to protect against contamination of food. Be aware of and comply with current good manufacturing practices regarding; proper food handling techniques, food-protection principles, the danger of poor personal hygiene and unsanitary practices

Requirements

  • H.S. School Diploma or GED; ability to read and write well
  • The position requires precision and is very detail oriented
  • Ability to perform mechanical troubleshooting, especially related to forklifts
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in oral and written form
  • Lead fellow co-workers and promote a teamwork environment
  • Must have good hand speed and the use of both hands to accomplish the above-described duties
  • Good problem-solving skills and communication
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45-50 pounds

  • Lifts heavy objects by hand or using power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment, using broom, rags, and cleaning compounds, to assist machine operators
  • Assists on sanitation at end of production on drumming, dumping and tanker loading areas
  • Handles hazardous material like Caustic Soda, Hypochlorite 12% concentration, Enviro Klor Plus-foaming Detergent, among others, for sanitation
  • When needed assists at the dumping and drumming area
