About The Position

The Forklift Operator is responsible for efficiently receiving, handling, preparing, and shipping merchandise while maintaining accuracy and safety standards. This role includes tracking inventory, operating warehouse equipment, and ensuring timely and damage-free handling of all materials. The ideal candidate is a team player with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in fast-paced, cold storage environments when necessary.

Requirements

Forklift operation experience (certification preferred)
Basic computer literacy and familiarity with inventory software
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in freezer/cold storage environments
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Solid communication skills (written and verbal)
Reliable team player with a problem-solving mindset

Nice To Haves

Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, or inventory control experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Receive and inspect incoming shipments, verifying quantity, condition, and documentation
Load merchandise into delivery trucks using proper equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts)
Handle fragile and sensitive items with care to prevent damage
Track and record shipment details including arrival/departure times, shortages, and overages
Prepare outgoing shipments and internal transfers accurately and efficiently
Maintain and document records of merchandise on hold, aged inventory, or damaged items
Use warehouse management tools and software to update inventory and track logistics
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Support inventory control processes including cycle counts and audits
Perform other duties as assigned by management
