We welcome our veterans to apply! Lakeside Book Company is looking for safety minded Temp-to-Hire Forklift Operators to join our Plainfield team. You will be responsible for maneuvering hoists to lift, lower, and transport materials safely across the warehouse. You will work closely with a dedicated team, ensuring that products are moved to their proper locations, while maintaining a safe working environment. Requirements
- Minimum of 6 months experience as a forklift operator required.
- Comfortable with heights of 20+ feet, required.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations in a warehouse environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety in all operations.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50lbs throughout your shift.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a hoist, turret truck, and/or stand-up forklift.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and other transport vehicles.
- Ensure all lifting operations comply with safety regulations and company standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure they are in safe working order.
- Assist in the organization and maintenance of the warehouse inventory.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely order fulfillment and material handling.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to management promptly.
