About The Position

The Neil Jones Food Company is an industry leader, processing superior quality fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. Headquartered in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers with the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 50 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA. We are looking for a part-time 3rd Shift Forklift Chase Driver to haul four bins at a time from a cold room to the dump driver. This role will be responsible for communicating with supervisors/managers about which cold room and which load number they are using at one time at our Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA. This is a part-time position (full-time during pack season, July – October, and when running production off season; part-time the rest of the year). Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift Operator Certification.
  • Ability to communicate verbally effectively and perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Ability to be reliable - dependable and trustworthy.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, and work extended hours and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to November.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes Food Safety Culture as a priority, in all situations, through conversations, communications and actions.
  • Takes empty bins to the empty bin area.
  • Ensures use of the correct load number.
  • Gives break to the Dump Driver.
  • Willing to be flexible with other job duties.
