About The Position

Our Team Members operate powered industrial equipment such as stand-up and sit-down forklifts with fork and clamp attachments. This role includes handling large, bulky freight such as tires, requiring precise clamp operation to safely load, unload, and move product without pallets. Tasks include loading/unloading pallets and loose freight, picking/staging orders, putting away product, and other general forklift work.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of forklift and warehouse experience
  • Must be highly efficient in all required tasks
  • Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program (including clamp operation, if applicable)
  • Comply with all OSHA and MSDS standards
  • Ability to read, understand and follow instructions, and to code applicable documents
  • Must be able to pass Forklift Driving Skills test (including clamp operation if applicable)
  • This position requires lifting cases weighing from 20 45 pounds repeatedly throughout a long work period
  • 18 years or older
  • Experience operating forklifts in a high-speed warehouse or manufacturing environment
  • Ability to safely operate equipment in tight spaces without damaging product
  • Familiarity with racking systems and loading/unloading pallets and non-palletized freight
  • Understanding of standard operating procedures and safety requirements

Responsibilities

  • Conduct operations in a manner promoting safety
  • Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts with fork and clamp attachments
  • Safely handle large, non-palletized freight (e.g., tires) using clamp equipment
  • Adjust and monitor clamp pressure to prevent product damage while maintaining load stability
  • Put away inbound shipments and move product to storage locations using powered equipment
  • Load and unload trailers and containers using both forks and clamps
  • Pick cases or product and stage appropriately for outbound shipment
  • Prepare product for shipment ensuring the exact number and correct items are staged for loading
  • Keep appropriate records and reports for inventory accuracy
  • Report quality variances, including any damage caused by improper handling
  • Maintain the facility's equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion
  • Assist in any required physical inventories
  • Complete daily inspection of equipment, including clamp attachment functionality
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
  • Ensure proper stock rotation
  • Observe and follow all health and safety regulations
  • Enforce operating instructions and safety policies
  • Assist management in establishing warehouse standards and procedures
  • Maintain detailed records of safety incidents
  • Assign designated safety personnel
  • Maintain warehouse in a clean, safe, and orderly condition
  • Follow proper clamp handling procedures to ensure product integrity and operator safety
