About The Position

Hanover Foods Corporation in Clayton, DE is seeking experienced Forklift Operators for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts. The role involves operating lift trucks to transfer loaded pallets, selecting orders, performing daily checks and maintenance on lift trucks, and reporting any mechanical or safety issues. Operators are responsible for proper waste disposal, adhering to plant hygiene regulations, and maintaining a clean and orderly work area. The position requires adherence to common safety practices and procedures, including wearing protective equipment, and following food safety, legality, and quality policies. Other duties may be assigned by the Warehouse Manager and/or Lead.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of a high school diploma, equivalent (GED), or demonstrated proficiency through previous job experience and/or training in related performance responsibilities listed above.

Responsibilities

  • Operates lift truck, transferring loaded pallets to and from storage areas and production lines.
  • Select orders according to the orders provided.
  • Make daily check of lift trucks and maintains gas or electrical charge, oil & water of lift trucks.
  • Report any mechanical or safety problems to the Lead person, or Warehouse Manager.
  • Properly dispose of waste materials.
  • Responsible for physically lifting upto 100 pounds.
  • Adheres to plant hygiene regulations to ensure high product integrity.
  • Must not leave assigned area, unless given permission by Lead person or Warehouse Manager
  • Report any product questionable in quality to the Warehouse Manager and/or Quality Assurance person immediately.
  • Ensures work area is clean and orderly according to good housekeeping practices.
  • Adheres to common safety practices and procedures, including the wearing of protective equipment and clothing as required.
  • Responsible for following food safety, legality and quality policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities such as but not limited to: GMP’s, food, safety, product quality, food security, plant security, etc.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned by the Warehouse Manager and/or Lead.
