About The Position

West Vancouver Materials Recovery Center (West Van), a Waste Connections company, is looking to hire a highly motivated & safety driven, Forklift Operator, to work at our Transfer Station in Vancouver, WA (6601 NW Old Lower River Rd, Vancouver, WA 98660) Pay range is $27-$29/HR DOE Schedule is Monday - Friday Shift is 12:30 PM to 9:00 PM with some overtime as needed. Safety Sensitive: Yes Qualified candidates must have Forklift operating experience. REQUIRES ability to efficiently & safely operate Forklift. Requirements

Ability to adhere to company policies and rules that are set forth promotes the company’s safety standards; work with a sense of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness.
Ability to adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges as they arise
Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of computer skills.
Pre-employment requirements for this safety sensitive position include drug panel screening & criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Operate forklift or other equipment as needed.
Perform routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
Completes daily reports on pre and post trip inspections of equipment.
Yard and facility maintenance including debris and clean up.
Spotting Trucks.
Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Specific duties can change on the daily basis as operation needs change.
Working outside in all weather conditions.
