Colt Builders is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator for our federal project at Fort Irwin, CA. This is a Davis-Bacon prevailing wage position offering competitive compensation and the opportunity to work on a high-profile military installation. This position is covered by the Davis-Bacon Act (DBA). The DBA is a federal law that establishes prevailing wages for laborers and mechanics on covered contracts. The prevailing wages are set forth in the applicable Wage Determination. The Wage Determination for this project is CA20250017. The classification for your position under the DBA is ENGI0012-001. The prevailing wage for this classification requires a basic hourly rate of $56.65 and fringe benefits of $25.25 for a total prevailing wage of $81.90. The total prevailing wage of $81.90/hour may be paid as a combination of hourly cash wages and bona fide fringe benefits in accordance with federal regulations. The duties of a forklift operator may vary based on the job. The main duty is to operate a forklift to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines, and loading docks, into railroad cars or trucks or storage facilities. Learning and performing tasks swiftly and efficiently, paying attention, following proper safety procedures and communicating is paramount.
