Your day as a Forklift Operator As a new Full-Time Forklift Operator at Barrett Petfood, you can expect an engaging and hands-on work environment. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include safely operating forklifts to move materials, loading and unloading products, and ensuring that inventory is accurately tracked and organized. You’ll collaborate closely with team members to meet production goals while adhering to safety protocols at all times. Each shift promises variety, from managing potential challenges in the warehouse to contributing to overall operational efficiency. Your schedule will be from Friday to Sunday, 4:00 AM to 4:00 PM, allowing you to enjoy weekday flexibility while being part of a high-performing team during the weekends. Expect to be actively involved in daily problem-solving, constantly honing your skills in a dynamic setting that values customer-centricity and integrity. Requirements

  • Attention to detail is vital for accurately tracking inventory and ensuring proper loading and unloading procedures.

  • Possessing strong problem-solving abilities will enable you to resolve issues quickly and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Physical stamina is also necessary, as the role involves frequent movement and lifting of materials.

Responsibilities

  • Pre-op inspections of forklifts, including reporting repairs to the maintenance department and leadership to ensure a work request is submitted
  • Use scanners and forklift tablets to locate ingredients and correct locations if necessary
  • Receive incoming shipment by verifying PO to BOL, receive into internal ERP system, Plex, and then scan and set into rows for storage.
  • Restock ingredients back into locations once weight is verified
  • Stage materials for mill processing (FIFO) and dispose of materials
  • Fix and replace broken pallets
  • Pallet trailer and recycling
  • Cycle counts
  • Verify all materials and ingredients are put away and cleaned by shift end
  • Assist in toting out trailers when necessary
  • Assist in dumping totes
