About The Position

The Forklift Operator at Del Monte Foods, Inc. is responsible for operating forklifts and other lifting devices to move materials and products within the warehouse. This role is crucial for maintaining efficient inventory management and ensuring that materials are loaded and unloaded safely and accurately. The operator will also be expected to adhere to safety standards and assist in maintaining the overall organization of the warehouse.

Requirements

• Must have a working knowledge of all stock locations.
• Ability to operate standard forklifts and other lifting devices.
• Must be able to up-stack and down-stack can units four high.
• Knowledge of shipping I.D. codes, can marks, and computerized tagging systems.
• Ability to work independently and follow safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Drive forklift and control movement of lifting devices to transport loads to designated areas.
• Unload and stack materials by raising and lowering lifting devices.
• Inventory materials on the work floor and supply workers with materials as needed.
• Load and unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting devices.
• Lubricate trucks, recharge batteries, and fill fuel tanks or replace liquefied gas tanks.
• Up-stack and down-stack pallets of case goods four high.
• Handle standard forklifts, push-pull, and clamp trucks.
• Inspect, prepare, chart, load, secure, seal, and release rail cars or vans as required.
• Maintain excellent standards for shipping to minimize non-transportation damage.
• Understand and follow safety rules.
