The Opportunity This position works out of our Sturgis, MI location in the Abbott Nutrition division. What You’ll Work On Material supply to production areas and related activities Incoming material receipt and storage GMP cleaning Other duties as assigned by leadership Supply materials in a timely manner to the customer Assist in the unloading of various materials Effectively utilize the MITS (Material Inventory Tracking System) to locate and deliver items based on FEFO (First Expiration, First Out) Effectively utilize MITS to accurately scan materials when moved – materials are in the location they are scanned to Must be able to read a production schedule and use to anticipate the needs of the customer Drive a fork lift safely and effectively, moving a variety of load types, using various storage methods (stacking, drive-in racks, push back racks, etc) without damage to material or facility Understand and adhere to all storage requirements including allergen, plastics, oils, etc. Ability to work OT during the week and on weekends You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Prior forklift experience or the ability to quickly learn the skill
  • Good communication skills
  • Makes safety a priority
  • Has an understanding of cGMP’s (current good manufacturing practices)
  • Able to self-direct work
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Material supply to production areas and related activities
