About The Position

The Forklift Operator position at Tyson Foods in Fayetteville, AR, is responsible for ensuring all materials are transported and/or unloaded in a timely manner while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. This facility operates five days a week with potential for overtime and produces Taco Shells, Tortilla Chips, and Tortillas. Candidates must have a minimum of 3 months accumulative forklift experience and complete forklift license training after hire. The role includes unloading packaging materials and ingredients, maintaining proper rotation using the FIFO inventory method, and ensuring safety measures are followed during unloading. The operator will also keep production lines stocked, maintain cleanliness in work areas, and perform various tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Must have 3 months accumulative forklift experience.
  • Completed forklift license training required after hire.
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Flexibility of wrists and hands, walking, bending, standing, and regularly lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to move heavy objects (up to 2000 lbs.) with lifting devices.
  • Basic PC skills including reading/sending emails and operating hand-held scanners.

  • Flexibility to work extended hours and/or weekends when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Unload packaging materials and ingredients from trailers into appropriate storage bays neatly and without damage.
  • Assure all safety measures are being performed before and during unloading of trailers.
  • Accurately complete unloading reports for both packaging and ingredients.
  • Keep production lines stocked with necessary materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness in all areas including the silo pumping area and storage areas.
  • Coordinate flour unloading activities and silo switching with the supervisor.
  • Report all damaged incoming products to the supervisor.
  • Load trucks with properly allocated products and complete necessary paperwork for loading.
  • Ensure safe spotting of trailer movement for yard tractor driver.
  • Communicate regularly with quality control, purchasing, production, and supervisors.
