About The Position

As a Forklift Operator at Value Added Packaging, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, load, and unload materials and products within our facility. In addition to warehouse operations, this role includes operating a non-CDL box truck to complete one scheduled delivery run per shift, ensuring timely and accurate transportation of materials or finished goods. The Forklift Operator plays a key role in supporting production flow, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction while adhering to all safety guidelines and company policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a forklift operator in a similar work environment
  • Knowledge of forklift operation, safety guidelines, and preventative maintenance.
  • Ability to operate forklifts with precision and attention to detail.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills for recording and updating inventory data.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate forklifts to transport materials, products, and equipment throughout the facility.
  • Load and unload trucks and storage areas following proper procedures and safety guidelines.
  • Perform routine pre- and post-operational checks on forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Operate a non-CDL box truck safely and professionally to complete one scheduled delivery run per shift as assigned.
  • Load, secure, and unload finished goods in compliance with safety procedures and delivery requirements.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Follow all traffic laws, company driving policies, and safety standards while representing Value Added Packaging professionally.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including storage and staging areas.
  • Assist in inventory management by accurately recording movement of materials and products.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure a smooth workflow and efficient operations.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, incidents, or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
  • Participate in training programs and continuous improvement initiatives as required.
