Forklift Operator I is responsible for the movement of material from inventory to production and back to inventory. This role involves maintaining correct paperwork and production records as required. The operator provides production departments with material from inventory according to the production schedule and assists with bottlenecks and other material needs. Key duties also include banding, wrapping, packing, and labeling finished goods, as well as moving them to the inventory yard or warehouse. The position requires performing general preventive maintenance on equipment, completing pre-shift startup checklists, and ensuring the rough material and finished goods inventory yard is organized and clean. Adherence to company forklift rules and policies, and participation in safety, CI, and other programs and meetings are also expected.
