About The Position

The Forklift Operator I at FedEx Supply Chain is responsible for safely operating basic powered material handling equipment to facilitate product receipt, storage, and order fulfillment. This role emphasizes product safety, quality, and legality, ensuring compliance with customer expectations while performing various distribution tasks.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate powered basic material handling equipment, such as electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Must meet all PPE and fall protection requirements.
• Ability to work on equipment at extended heights.
• Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Customer service driven and a strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate basic powered material handling equipment for product receipt, storage, and order fulfillment.
• Perform full case order picking for replenishment and customer orders.
• Retrieve and put away pallets in a narrow aisle bulk rack storage system.
• Conduct quality control to ensure accuracy of all transactions.
• Load and unload pallets and cases from trucks and conveyor lines, using hand or equipment.
• Sort and build products to pallets to meet customer compliance.
• Apply shrink wrap to pallets using machinery.
• Perform pre- and post-equipment checklists.
• Maintain accuracy of storage locations through daily cycle counts and routine inventory maintenance tasks.
• Perform other distribution work functions as needed based on business volume.
