The Forklift Operator, Forging role involves driving a forklift, operating a crane and other equipment to provide the support needed to run their department in the most efficient and economical manner. The operator will be responsible for tasks such as transporting, storing, retrieving, identifying, sorting, stacking, auditing, and locating parts and supplies. They will also set up jobs, make adjustments to machines and equipment, and handle pick-ups and deliveries for other departments. A key part of the role is keeping production operators supplied with materials and removing finished products, as well as maintaining equipment through cleaning and inspection.

Requirements

Be certified per OSHA requirements
Furnish own hand tools
Ability to read and interpret drawings
Ability to read and interpret routing sheets
Ability to satisfactorily use calipers
Ability to satisfactorily use gages
Ability to satisfactorily use measuring devices
Perform SPC as required

Responsibilities

Drive a forklift
Operate a crane and other equipment as required to provide the support help needed to run their department in the most efficient and economical manner

Retrieving parts and supplies
Identifying parts and supplies
Sorting parts and supplies
Stacking parts and supplies
Auditing parts and supplies
Locating parts and supplies
Setting up jobs
Making adjustments to machines and equipment
Making pick-ups and deliveries for other departments
Keeping the production operators supplied with adequate parts and material
Removing the finished products from their area
Maintain the equipment by cleaning, visual inspect, fluid inspect, and functioning inspect
Ensure that any hazardous waste generated must be properly packaged and labeled before removing from his/her area
