The Forklift Operator, Forging role involves driving a forklift, operating a crane and other equipment to provide the support needed to run their department in the most efficient and economical manner. The operator will be responsible for tasks such as transporting, storing, retrieving, identifying, sorting, stacking, auditing, and locating parts and supplies. They will also set up jobs, make adjustments to machines and equipment, and handle pick-ups and deliveries for other departments. A key part of the role is keeping production operators supplied with materials and removing finished products, as well as maintaining equipment through cleaning and inspection.

Requirements

  • Be certified per OSHA requirements
  • Furnish own hand tools
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings
  • Ability to read and interpret routing sheets
  • Ability to satisfactorily use calipers
  • Ability to satisfactorily use gages
  • Ability to satisfactorily use measuring devices
  • Perform SPC as required

  • Maintain the equipment by cleaning, visual inspect, fluid inspect, and functioning inspect
  • Ensure that any hazardous waste generated must be properly packaged and labeled before removing from his/her area
