About The Position
As a Forklift Operator at XPO, you will play a crucial role in the efficient handling of freight within our logistics operations. This position requires you to sort, handle, load, and unload both palletized and non-palletized freight, ensuring that all items are secured properly inside trailers using the appropriate tools and supplies. You will be expected to work in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to company safety policies at all times. The work environment includes a loading dock that is not climate-controlled, which may present challenges such as slippery surfaces and varying temperatures. Your daily responsibilities will involve using both motorized and manual equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts, to manage freight effectively. You will also utilize mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipments, ensuring accurate inventory management. The role demands physical stamina, as you will frequently lift freight and other objects weighing up to 50 lbs, and occasionally more than 70 lbs. Additionally, you will need to perform various physical tasks such as reaching, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, twisting, squatting, and kneeling as necessary. To succeed in this position, you must be available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends, depending on freight volumes.
