Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, and move materials within or near the plant, yard, or work site.
  • Coordinate the movement of materials to the presses based on production requirements.
  • Assist press operators in quality control methods to ensure high-quality products.
  • Receive and store steel coils, checking gauge and hardness upon receipt.
  • Maintain organized coil inventory and perform physical inventory counts as required.
  • Mount coils on presses and check coils during the initial run of parts for quality assurance.
  • Check presses for oil and coolants, filling as necessary, and maintain coil feeders and air line cylinders.
  • Keep daily records of coils run and those rejected due to quality issues.
  • Assist with inventory of finished goods and raw materials as required.
  • Use a pallet jack to move finished products to the shipping area.
  • Assist on presses as requested by the supervisor.
  • Convey materials from storage or work sites to designated areas.
  • Lift heavy objects by hand or with a power hoist and clean work areas, machines, and equipment.
  • Operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
  • Communicate courteously and professionally with coworkers and management.
  • Conform to all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • Respond promptly to telephone calls and correspondence.
  • Conduct duties in a manner that reflects a positive image of the organization.
  • Provide high-quality customer service to all internal and external customers.
