About the position
We are currently hiring a Forklift Operator for the 2nd Shift. The wage is based on experience and starts at $18.00/HR. The hours are 5:00 pm—3:30 am Monday through Thursday, with opportunities for overtime pay. Join MAT HD, a leading company making heavy braking parts for different markets. Responsibilities
- Performs daily safety inspection of forklift before operating to ensure safety.
- Takes proper safety and precautionary measures when operating machinery.
- Supports essential logistic operations through storage and transportation.
- Notifies technicians in advance when forklifts are in need of service.
- Performs work under direct supervision with a basic understanding of equipment.
- Handles basic issues and problems, and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Operates hand-held scanner and stretch-wrap machine.
- Complies with all company safety guidelines and procedures.
- Maintains a clean work environment.
- Other duties assigned by manager/supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Good communication skills (listening, verbal, and written).
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts using basic mathematical concepts.
- Must have or be able to receive license to operate forklift.
- Two years forklift experience is preferred.
- Willingness and ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
- Must be willing to submit to background check, employment verification, and drug screen.
