The Material Handler is a crucial role within the Arandell team, responsible for the efficient movement of materials throughout the plant. This includes tasks related to shipping, receiving, bindery, and the pressroom baler. The Material Handler will also oversee the recycling of cardboard and plastic, ensuring that oversights and product counts are accurately maintained. This position requires a proactive approach to supply machines with the necessary materials as specified by the Stitcher Operator, ensuring that all forms have a backup load ready to run. Communication with the Stitcher Operator regarding job progress, including quantities to run and any version changes, is essential for maintaining workflow efficiency. In addition to supplying machines with the proper pallets, binders, wire, and shrink film, the Material Handler is responsible for removing all packaging materials and ensuring that the work area is kept clean and organized. This includes the proper disposal of cardboard, plastic, garbage, and unnecessary pallets. The Material Handler will also verify load flags and placards to ensure they match with completed loads and that placements are correct. Once loads are completed, the Material Handler will transport them to either the Shipping Department or the bindery wrapper, depending on the area being supported. At the end of each shift, it is important to sweep the assigned work area and clean the forklift used during the shift. This role requires a commitment to safety and efficiency, as the Material Handler will be working in an environment with moving mechanical parts and potential exposure to fumes or airborne particles. The ability to lift and carry heavy materials, as well as operate a forklift and hand truck, is essential for success in this position.
