The Forklift Operator 2 drives a forklift truck equipped with various lifting devices such as forklifts, fork-grapples, clamps, elevating platforms, or trailer hitches. This role involves pushing, pulling, lifting, stacking, tiering, or moving raw paper materials, in-process products, finished products, equipment, or other materials within a warehouse, storage yard, or factory setting. The operator may also utilize an overhead rail crane or a rail car mover like a Track mobile to move materials and equipment. Responsibilities include loading and unloading semi-trailer trucks, maintaining accurate inventory, reporting discrepancies, and performing safety checks on lifts. The position may also require lubricating the truck, recharging batteries, filling fuel tanks, or replacing liquefied-gas tanks. A key aspect of the role is inventory control, tracking, and reporting inventory using a materials management system, and potentially organizing and assigning storage space.
