Dohrn is currently seeking a Forklift Mechanic at our Rock Island, IL Terminal. 1st Shift Available - 4 Day Work Week! Pay: Up to $35.47/Hour with incentives Training available for incentives No CDL incentive offered for lift truck 12 months to Top Scale! Position Summary: Forklift Mechanics are responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining and repairing Dohrn forklifts.

Requirements

A minimum age of 18
High School completion or equivalent
Valid Driver License
Command of English language to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
Must pass a NON-Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and functional screen NOTE: CDL-qualified mechanics will be subject to a DOT physical examination
Must consent to a pre-employment drug screen; Dohrn Transfer must receive a negative result
Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques used in the repair and maintenance of a variety of automotive and mechanical equipment is required
Must have previous experience maintaining detailed and routine record keeping
Manual dexterity required
Must possess knowledge of occupational hazards & standard safety precautions
Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to communicate to both internal and external customers
Ability to work in a team as well as independently
Excellent attendance

Nice To Haves

Experience with forklift maintenance is preferred

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance inspections and services
Support the tire maintenance program
Perform service calls
Wash and fuel equipment
Perform other maintenance duties or assignments
Provide assistance to senior technicians
Lead the care and upkeep of the Maintenance Shop, grounds, and all equipment and tools
Maintain a clean, safe environment that complies with DOT, EPA, OSHA and company standards
Complete all required documentation and keep records
In conjunction with the Parts Department, assure that all necessary materials, parts, service/shop supplies are maintained at proper quantity levels
Perform other duties as needed
