About The Position

Guy M. Turner Inc. is seeking an experienced Forklift Mechanic / Forklift Technician to join our team in Greensboro, NC. In this role, you'll handle forklift repair and maintenance as well as broader industrial equipment repair, warehouse forklift service, and material handling mechanic responsibilities across a wide variety of forklift models. Our company values expertise, reliability, and a strong commitment to quality service. This is a hands-on position where your skills will keep our fleet operating safely and efficiently. As a Forklift Mechanic / Forklift Technician at Guy M. Turner, you will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide variety of forklift models (electric, propane, and some hydraulic). Your role will be critical in ensuring that our fleet remains operational, safe, and efficient. Our forklift shop is equipped with ARI-HETRA Lift Systems to "lift up" our forklifts for easier access. We are looking for a highly experienced professional who can work independently. Note: This is not a Forklift Operator role.

Requirements

  • Experience as a Forklift Mechanic / Forklift Technician (or in a similar role) within the material handling industry
  • In-depth knowledge of various forklift brands, models, and their mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Must currently hold a valid driver's license which is required (CDL preferred but not required)
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and work in varying conditions (some heavy lifting required)
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a forklift mechanic in a manufacturing plant is a plus
  • Forklift certification and any relevant mechanical certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and engine systems on a variety of forklifts
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections according to manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols
  • Maintain accurate service records and provide detailed reports of work performed
  • Respond to emergency service calls when required, ensuring minimal downtime for clients
  • Order and manage parts inventory in line with operational requirements
