About The Position

The Forklift Mechanic at CVS Health is responsible for troubleshooting and performing repairs and scheduled maintenance on powered industrial equipment within the new bulk distribution center in Jersey City. This role requires technical expertise to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely, while also providing support and guidance to junior colleagues. The position emphasizes adherence to safety guidelines and maintaining high standards of customer service.

Requirements

  • Ability to walk, stand, pull, climb, bend, reach, and stoop for extended periods.
  • Occasional medium lifting (0-20 lbs.) and heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs.).
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail for load accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills and awareness of problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate in a team-based setting.
  • Ability to act competently in emergencies and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work safely with various electrical systems and read technical manuals.

Nice To Haves

  • 0-2 years of previous warehouse experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver technical support for the Forklift Maintenance area under limited supervision.
  • Diagnose faulty equipment and identify the extent and cause of malfunction.
  • Establish preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs for all systems and equipment.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance efficiently and effectively, in line with company procedures.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory and organizational safety guidelines.
  • Conduct complex daily work orders and coach junior colleagues in techniques and processes.
  • Maintain records of all service work and repairs performed in line with company procedure.
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections and checks.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor and provide superior customer service.
  • Perform unplanned electrical and mechanical maintenance and repairs.
  • Control and adjust sensors and switches, and exchange mechanical & electrical wear and tear parts.
