General Expectations : Forklift operators are responsible for operating and managing industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas and work centers. This position is crucial to the efficient operation of the facility. Applicant must understand the challenge to replace a forklift operator when absent.

Requirements

  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate with team.
  • Attention to detail.
  • General building material knowledge.
  • Ability to read and write effectively all job-related functions.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of continuous experience of forklift operation.
  • Must have good organizational skills.
  • Must have patience and work well under pressure
  • Must be flexible with working hours and duties.
  • Demonstrates honesty and integrity.
  • Has a strong work ethic.
  • Displays a great attitude and models teamwork, assisting other forklift operators in every department.
  • Able to pass forklift operator’s driving assessment.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 80 pounds.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred forklift experience.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with Mill Area Coordinator and Mill Team Leader
  • Loading, unloading of materials
  • Maintains quality expectation of documentation and reports accordingly
  • Transports raw material to production workers
  • Maintains daily logs and report shortages
  • Inspect equipment
  • Performs other duties as required by management
  • Must be able to assist in maintaining lumber/rafter yard and sheds with proper housekeeping skills.
