About The Position
Forklift Maintenance Tech 1 Salary Range: $24.00 - $35.00/ Hr. As the largest machine tool builder in the western world, we need world-class talent in all of our departments. The Forklift Maintenance Technician 1 is responsible for the inspection, repair and maintenance of forklifts, carts, tugs and other wheeled factory equipment. This critical role deals mostly with preventative maintenance, light repairs and ensuring compliance with safety regulations to promote a safe and productive work environment.
Requirements
- Maintain an active Haas Forklift certification.
- 3 years experience of forklift maintenance work.
- Work with little to no supervision.
Responsibilities
- Equipment Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of forklifts and other vehicles to identify any mechanical or electrical issues. Regularly assess the condition of components such as brakes, tires, hydraulics, engine, and safety systems.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform scheduled maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication, and other general servicing. Execute repairs and troubleshoot problems with vehicles, addressing issues like faulty wiring, hydraulic leaks, transmission problems and more.
- Preventative Maintenance: Follow maintenance schedules to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of the forklift fleet. Adhere to manufacturer guidelines and best practices for preventative maintenance.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities including work orders, inspection reports and parts replacements. Use the equipment records in SAP to track and document tasks.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all forklifts and equipment meet safety standards and regulations. Regularly inspect safety features like lights, horns and alarms to guarantee safe operation.
- Employees must report any damage to a supervisor or manager.
- Employees are expected to follow instructions, procedures and to escalate any issue impacting workflow, quality, etc.
- Employees must exhibit honesty and integrity as well as demonstrate adherence to rules, procedures and policies.
