About The Position

This position will use a forklift to assist all areas of the plant in the production and packaging of french fries and preformed potato products in a manner consistent with safety, quality and production goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Must have successfully completed the Job Skill Evaluation to begin training in the position.
  • Must complete the Structured Job Training program within recommended timeframe to remain in the position permanently.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculate percentages to make proper adjustments and calibrations, as required.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in English in a manner to successfully complete job duties.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds,  ie a bag of ingredients
  • Must be able to maneuver in close quarters and climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to stand on concrete floors for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in extreme environments (cold, hot, humid and slippery).
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to identify hazards and report to appropriate personnel.
  • Must have an acceptable attendance record

Responsibilities

  • Forklift Line Service employees are required to be cross trained with Materials and Inventory Coordinators and are able to perform functions within their security role.
  • Attend and participate in all training activities for the position.  Ensure the acquired skills and knowledge are applied.
  • Ensures there is no injury to self or others by following safe work practices (including Standard Operating Procedures) and policies.
  • Conducts oneself in a professional manner and ensures that personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job functions while representing the Company.
  • Must be able to complete training on the safe operation of the lift truck (forklift) and successfully pass the certification test requirements. This training and certification are requirements in accordance with OSHA 1910.78 standards for Material Handling and Storage using Powered Industrial Trucks.
  • Maintains freezer by locating and moving totes as needed.
  • Dumps totes and maintains lines to facilitate packaging.
  • Ensures proper inspection of forklift.
  • Ensures trash totes are emptied and located in areas needed.
  • Monitors the safe operation of the trash compactors and dumpsters.
  • Properly creates tote tags/ pallet tags and performs timely data entry into DCS.
