About The Position
The Forklift Field Service Technician position at Alta Equipment Company is a full-time role based in Sterling Heights, MI. This position is crucial to the organization as technicians are considered the backbone of the company. The successful candidate will be provided with a company service van that can be parked at home, a fuel card, and a company-paid cell phone, ensuring that they have the necessary tools and resources to perform their job effectively. The role involves performing preventative maintenance on customer forklifts and other material handling equipment, diagnosing and repairing various forms of customer equipment, and ensuring that each repair job is completed in a timely, efficient, and professional manner. Exceptional customer service is a key component of this role, as technicians will be expected to manage their workloads independently while maintaining a high standard of work. Additionally, the position requires the proper completion and submission of all required paperwork, as well as responsibility for the company vehicle and on-board parts inventory. Technicians are encouraged to participate in in-house paid training programs to enhance their skills in diagnosis and troubleshooting, further advancing their careers within the company. The work schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, and the position is hourly, with no flat rate pay structure.
