Forklift Equipment Operator 2nd Shift (3:30pm-12:00am)
About The Position
The Forklift Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient operation of heavy equipment, including fork trucks, vacuum trucks, metal drum shredders, excavators, and a facility street sweeper. This position is responsible for the refuse movement on the tipping floor and will maintain safe and efficient truck traffic flow through the tipping floor area. Equipment operators perform daily preventative maintenance tasks required for the upkeep and operation of various assigned equipment and other assigned tasks. The schedule for this position is second shift hours from 3:30 PM to 12:00 AM.
Requirements
- Knowledge of operating heavy equipment
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
- Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
- Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
- Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
- Consistently work in various weather conditions
Nice To Haves
- Industrial plant experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Direct refuse trucks to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow
- Move refuse per site procedures
- Off-loading of box van trailers
- Perform daily inspections on mobile equipment.
- Conduct and document refuse inspections for unacceptable waste
- Unload supplemental waste using a forklift
- Separate and load white goods
- Comply with Corporate and OSHA Safety Rules and Regulations
- Maintain good housekeeping practices
- Familiarity with emergency procedures
- Familiarity with operating procedures used during unloading of MSW and special waste
