About The Position

The Forklift Driver is responsible for operating various types of forklifts in a safe and efficient manner while adhering to safety and HR standards. This role involves completing daily inspections of equipment, following written work instructions, and assisting team members as needed. The position requires a focus on timeliness and accuracy in handling materials and products within a production or warehouse environment.

Requirements

• Read and interpret charts, graphs, and other data
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Maintain accurate and legible production records
• Understand detailed verbal and/or written work instructions
• Ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail
• Ability to train on multiple processes and work in multiple cells regularly
• Ability to continually exceed production rates while maintaining accuracy
• Troubleshooting and rework skills
• Functional understanding of components and finished products
• Cleaning of the production area during and following each shift
• Breaking down/tagging nonconforming items
• Organize and stock materials during and following each shift
• Ability to read and understand complex sequences and detailed work instructions
• Ability to train team members on processes
• Completion of routine safety training
• Basic mechanical and math skills
• Experience with all types of lifts within the environment

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety and HR standards of conduct at all times
• Follow written work instructions in a self-directed manner
• Complete daily inspection of the lift and equipment used and log those inspections
• Operate forklift (various models) in a safe and efficient manner
• Meet expectations for timeliness and accuracy
• Up-stack and down-stack large items
• Assist other team members in various tasks as requested
• Complete dock inspections of final product
• Take direction from Bluegrass leadership and the customer
• Perform any other tasks requested by the customer or Bluegrass
