About The Position

The Forklift Driver at Good Sense Foods is responsible for performing various warehouse duties to efficiently receive, store, pick, and ship orders. This role supports both the production facility and the distribution center, ensuring a consistent flow of products and maintaining safety standards while operating forklifts and handling inventory.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of warehouse experience.
  • 2 years of forklift experience.
  • Basic math skills, including use of a calculator.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to operate all hand and powered jacks.
  • Ability to complete all paperwork neatly and accurately.
  • Ability to enter data into handheld computer accurately.
  • Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a sit-down and stand-up forklift.
  • Load and unload trucks in a timely manner.
  • Complete paperwork and trailer inspections for all inbound/outbound trailers.
  • Use forklift to move pallets to and from pallet racking.
  • Review production schedule to determine product needs.
  • Communicate with operations in all areas for daily production needs.
  • Support order pickers and production line with a consistent flow of product.
  • Ensure all products are taken from warehouse slots or bins using FIFO/FEFO.
  • Use an RF scanner to move and track inventory.
  • Operate pallet wrapper.
  • Complete inventory checks and cycle counts as needed.
  • Pick orders to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Secure product to pallets using shrink wrap, edge protectors and banding depending on customer needs.
  • Attach proper signage to pallets per customer and carrier requirements.
  • Unload trucks and inspect material for damage.
  • Verify pallet, case, and pounds received with shipping paperwork.
  • Check in product by item number, lot number and quantity received.
  • Separate materials by item and lot number.
  • Complete forklift safety inspection daily.
  • Change batteries in a safe and timely manner.
  • Change propane tanks in a safe manner.
  • Perform sanitation tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Lift and move boxes up to 55 lbs.
