About The Position

Forklift Drivers are responsible for utilizing Forklifts for receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping in a distribution center setting. The preferred candidate will have the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and quality for both internal and external customers. Their goal should be to pick, pack and ship all orders with 100% accuracy. Forklift Drivers actively contribute to distribution center safety and promote a zero-accident culture.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred, but not required.
  • A minimum of 3-6 months related experience in a warehouse environment preferred utilizing reach trucks.
  • Must be able to drive in narrow aisles and open floor space.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to use bar code scanners, computers, data entry, generate labels preferred but not required.
  • Must have an open mind and willingness to learn new tasks/ technology.
  • Maintain flexible work schedule and adhere to the requirement of working any designated overtime as requested per business and operational needs.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations.
  • Ability to consistently walk, stoop, kneel, bend 9+ hours a day.
  • Ability to frequently lift, lower, and carry up to 45 lbs.
  • Ability to ascend or descend ladders, stairs and/or ramps.
  • Ability to climb onto and off the forklift, to sit in the forklift for extended periods of time, and to turn his/her body to look in the direction of travel when driving in reverse.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe work environment.
  • Ensures a culture of safety throughout the organization by following FORMA safety policies and procedures.
  • Operate a stand-up forklift and/or sit-down forklift to meet daily work requests.
  • Pull daily wholesale orders.
  • Load & unload trucks.
  • Assist putting away product once unloaded via manual/electric pallet jack and/or stand-up forklift.
  • Assist in counting product at the time of loading and unloading trucks.
  • Wrap orders with stretch wrap and other packaging supplies as needed.
  • Stack items on pallets.
  • Moves product around warehouse and operates warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, scanners) safely and efficiently.
  • Daily lift inspections and reports
  • Performs additional responsibilities including cleaning and organizing warehouse, picking and packing product, etc.
  • Provides support during physical inventory counts of distribution center.
  • Meets deadlines and goals as established by distribution center management.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly working environment.
  • Consistently maintains reliable and acceptable attendance.
  • Works collaboratively with other employees and departments toward common goals and objectives.
