About The Position

Forklift Drivers perform multiple duties, supporting facility operations for agricultural seed and feed products. The Forklift Driver reports to the production supervisor.

Requirements

  • Experience safely operating forklift, dollies and other loading and moving equipment used in warehouse operations.
  • Warehouse experience at 1 year.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to do shift work seasonally.
  • Flexibility to perform multiple roles.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well independently and as a team.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting, carrying and loading up to 60-pound weight.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop, push, pull and kneel frequently.
  • Flexibility to walk and/or stand for extended periods of time as well as climb stairs/ladders as needed.
  • Hand dexterity and strength.
  • Must be able to continuously climb and descend stairs safely utilizing handrails.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Safe and efficient operation of Forklift, supporting facility handling of seed, grain and packaged goods.
  • Assist Mill Workers and other staff as operational situations require, guided by the production supervisor.
  • Verified and efficient movement of material for conditioning and packaging operations.
  • Maintain seed lot integrity in compliance with state, federal and Barkley Seed standards.
  • Ensure highest level of sanitation and organization to ensure safe and healthful environment for personel and product health.
  • Loading and unloading various types of truck trailers.
  • Maintain clear and accurate written records and with system interface devices when applicable.
  • Each operator is responsible for clean-up of spills associated with his activities.
  • Notify supervisor when process deviations are observed relating company practices, safety to staff and seed health.
