About The Position

A Forklift Driver/Material Handler is responsible for operating material handling equipment (forklifts) to receive, store, and distribute materials, parts, and supplies, utilizing wireless RF scanning equipment to direct the disposition of materials. This position is located in Waterloo, Iowa.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience operating a Forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
• OSHA-endorsed forklift certification or ability to become certified
• Previous use of RF Scanning equipment and Warehouse Management System (WMS)
• Must be able to identify products through reading, interpreting, and scanning pallet information
• Ability to understand instructions in English
• Knowledge of safety practices
• Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment involving tire and wheel operations is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate material handling equipment (forklift) to move racks, containers, pallets, and crates
• Move, locate, relocate, load, unload, and stack material in the assigned area
• Perform routine daily equipment inspections and escalate issues
• Gather finished orders for movement to the outbound shipping area
• Ensure product is labelled and free of damages, overages, and shortages
• Accurately complete all related paperwork
• Adhere to quality and customer service standards set forth by the company
• Observe and comply with all safety procedures and guidelines
• Ensure that materials loaded to be transported are properly stacked and secure
• Perform housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, removing scrap, pallets, cardboard, etc.
• Regular and reliable attendance at work
