About The Position

Moose Landing Marina, located on Brandy Pond in Naples, Maine, is seeking a year-round Forklift/Equipment Operator. The successful candidate is expected to safely run forklifts, trucks and/or trailer combinations. Moose Landing Marina staff must be available to assist with the set-up breakdown of all boat shows. The successful candidate must be willing to perform other tasks and work well with other experienced marine crews to provide a well-executed, quality service for our boating customers. Moose Landing Marina's crew is a highly trained and committed group that offers the right candidate growth opportunities in the boatyard environment. We are looking for individuals with a good attitude and a strong work ethic who want to grow and be part of a great team. Moose Landing Marina staff supports fulfilling snow plowing contracts in the winter months and other tasks assigned by supervisor. All staff are expected to be available to work some weekends.

Requirements

  • Candidate must be able to lift 50 lbs., or more, on a regular basis.

  • Current CDL - Class A License (optional/not required) or ability to obtain within a reasonable amount of time determined by the General Service Manager.
  • High School Graduate (or equivalent)
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • To perform this job successfully an individual should be comfortable with computer programs such as Outlook email, Word, Paylocity and Lightspeed.

Responsibilities

  • Drives truck to destinations and delivers or unloads boats.
  • Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and informs supervisor of any issues.
  • Assists other workers in loading and unloading trucks and other yard duties.
  • Fills out daily logs and inspection forms.
  • Keeps equipment up to date with state inspections and current registrations and insurance.
  • Assisting with boat show set up and tear down.
  • Setting maintenance, setting, and hauling docks in the spring and fall.
  • General yard duties such as plowing, equipment maintenance, and pressure washing.
  • Prepare the yard(s) for seasonal needs, storms, and events as needed.
  • Coordinates efforts with co-workers
  • Assist with the scheduling and planning of all deliveries with service.
  • Maintain equipment, ensuring services are completed in a timely manner.
  • Work with Service to develop a yard and driver schedule.
  • Responsible for loading/unloading of storage buildings and new boat deliveries.
  • Responsible for the launching and hauling of docks.
  • Work with the General Service Manager to determine a plan of maintenance for the docks.
  • Responsible for the blocking/storing of customer boats in a safe and professional manner.
  • Understand and appropriately deal with hazardous waste reporting / risks / spills.
