About The Position

Since 1971, Presrite Corporation has been providing world class forging solutions to our customers. We have three modern manufacturing plants plus a dedicated technical division for our Engineering and die making capabilities, all centrally located in Ohio. Press sizes range from 1,300 to 6,000 tons, forging approximately 125,000 tons of steel annually. Forgings we provide range from 2 to 300 pounds, all produced to the latest International quality standards. We have an immediate opening for a Forge Engineer at our Technical Division located in Eastlake, OH. This position will report to the Corporate Engineering Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 3-5 years of experience in metals manufacturing industry (Forging preferred)
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, tolerancing and manufacturing specifications
  • Good working knowledge of statistical process control methods and its application
  • Ability to 3D model complex parts and assemblies
  • Strong working knowledge of 3D modeling software (Solidworks preferred), and Microsoft Office is required; Deform software is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of press forging fundamentals and die design is a plus
  • Self-motivated, high attention to detail, and strong multitasking abilities
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and improve the manufacturing processes used to forge a part to print requirements
  • Launch and lead the APQP team/meetings from initial kickoff through design review and post-production review
  • Collaborate with the design engineers and operations to determine appropriate procedures, speeds and feeds, and die set up that will produce a try-out that meets the print
  • Provide all documentation internally from these runs and validate consistency over the life of the launch/APQP
  • Troubleshoot existing die issues/runs utilizing our discovery tool, forming collaborative teams to fully investigate while providing solutions through die modifications or redesigns, set-up adjustments or production parameter adjustments
  • Initiate PCN's and update prints as needed
  • Participate in try-outs for new and adjusted die designs, offering your expertise in process and design
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Quality Policy and how it relates to customer requirements
