About the position

The Forestry Worker position at Costa Pacifica Inc. is a temporary, full-time seasonal role based in Central Point, Oregon. The job involves various forestry-related tasks, including planting and maintaining tree seedlings, vegetation management, and assisting with fire suppression activities. The position requires physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Workers will be transported to different job sites across multiple states and must be available for the entire duration of the employment period from December 8, 2024, to July 11, 2025.

Responsibilities

• Raise and transport seedlings.
• Sort tree seedlings and discard substandard ones according to standard charts or verbal instructions.
• Plant seedlings and trees.
• Spray or inject vegetation with insecticides or herbicides.
• Trim trees or other vegetation, cut trees or logs, and perform thinning and pruning.
• Clear and dispose of brush, pile slash, and dig line/construct fire breaks under supervision.
• Perform incidental driving and other related forestry activities.

Requirements

• Three months of Commercial Brushsaw/Chainsaw experience.
• Must be at least 18 years old due to travel requirements.
• Ability to perform physically strenuous labor for long hours in various weather conditions.
• Must be capable of walking up to 15 miles a day and carrying a pack of up to 50 lbs.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in forestry or related fields.
• Knowledge of vegetation management techniques.
