Up to five Undergraduate Research Assistants will support the forestry health research project. UG RAs will assist with field and laboratory work, including sample collection, preparation, and analysis focused on forest health and ecosystem monitoring. They will also be trained in advanced field and molecular techniques such as assessing pinyon cores, needles, cones, and sap, as well as conducting DNA sequencing. This role gives UG RAs hands-on experience in environmental science, training in research methods, and opportunities to develop critical thinking skills. They will contribute to work that supports sustainable forest management and ecological resilience, while preparing for future careers or graduate study in STEM.
